Bridging The Gap: Nas & Don Omar Headline Soulfrito 2014
This Saturday, February 22nd, Hip Hop Legend Nas will take the stage at the 2014 Soulfrito Urban Latin Music Festival. The urban music festival returns this year, following a six year hiatus, and will take place at the Miami Dolphin's Sun Life Stadium. Speaking on the mission of the grass roots organization founder Melissa Giles states" Soulfrito began in 2002 as a way to bridge the gap between the African American and Latino communities in South Florida." The festival has been instrumental in the rise of Reggeaton music and some of it's biggest stars including Pit Bull. This year's festival will feature Nas as the headliner who is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Illmatic. Other performers include Don Omar who is also headlining the event, as well as rappers Juicy J and Bust Rhymes, Reggaeton duo Plan B, and more. The all day festival, hosted by Adrienne Bailon and Julissa Bermudez, consists of live music performances, DJs, live art and digital installations by Multi-Cultural talent. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
