Queens reigned supreme yesterday at HOT 97's 2014 Summer Jam when Nas took the stage performing some of his biggest records and surprising the audience with multiple special guests. Held at the Met's Citifield in Rutherford, NJ, the annual music concert brought out some of Hip Hop and RnB's biggest names including 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and more. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Illmatic, Nas, dressed in all black and a special edition 12AM RUN cap, hit the stage to perform classic cuts from the debut album including hits  “N. Y. State of Mind,” “Life’s A B***h,” "The World Is Yours," and “Represent.” Reminiscing on his journey of success, Nas humbly thanked the fans and praised the late Michael Jackson for allowing his voice to be heard over the famous track "It Ain't Hard To Tell" (sampled from Jackson's "Human Nature").

Continuing his performance, Nas gave a queue to his deejay, DJ Green Lantern, to stop the music before surprising the crowd with a special appearance and salute to rappers Meek Mill and French Montana. The two quickly jumped into performances of their songs of "I Don't Know (Sucidal)," "They Don't Love You No More," "Dreams and Nightmares (Intro)," and more before praising Nas as one of the greatest of all time. Nas returned to take center stage to continue his performance, diving into 1999's "Hate Me Now" before inviting 50 Cent to the stage to begin his set.
