When I became a Nas fan
It was around the time he came out with "It Was Written". I was only 6 years old at the time. I remember attempting to rap his song "If I Ruled The World". Hearing it play on the radio stations 24/7 and my dad blast it in the house whenever he had a chance to put down Jay-Z's album. I became a fan of Nas then. Not knowing what he was truly speaking of back then because I was so young, i just felt it was different than most. I knew he was talking about things that mattered. I didn't have a chance to get my hands on one of his albums for myself until the year of 2002, when his "God's Son" album hit my dads Wharehouse Music store. I knew every word to the song "I Can" in less than a week and played out "Get Down". Music has forever been a big part of my life playing the drums, baritone, clarinet and other percussion has allowed that. At one point in time I got so caught up in Nas music i started making beats on my keybaord because I wanted to provide one for him one day. Although that is no longer a dream I will forever be one of his biggest fans.
